On the Gilfert you stand almost 2,000m above the Inn Valley. The summit is free and therefore you have a perfect 360 degree panorama.

So if you want to cross the ridge, you should already be practiced. The path has partial protection.

Very good food and large portions.

Great view, already on the way very impressive views. Be careful, it's a gigantic descent and the narrow path leads directly past the abyss. Therefore, on the one hand, alpine experience or at least good physical condition and a head for heights are absolutely necessary. From one side ascent incl. "climbing" passages (i.e. route with wire rope to hold on to) - but doable with experience/stamina - and from the other side a long, tough ascent/descent (from Eng).
