Great starting point for many hiking options, whether in the valley or on the mountain, as there is a large parking lot (for a fee).

The Zillertal Arena is the largest ski area in the Zillertal and extends over the towns of Zell am Ziller, Gerlos, Königsleiten, Wald and Krimml/Hochkrimml, from Tyrol's Zillertal to Salzburg's Pinzgau. 

A hike in Gerlos to the Isskogel is a very nice alternative to hiking with a great view

Suitable bikes for the trails can be hired at the Isskogel valley station

There is a large car park right next to the Isskogelbahn. In addition, there is a ski rental in winter and a rental of downhill bikes for the bike park in summer. If you are hungry or not, you can eat very well at Luigi's next to the parking lot (and celebrate après-ski downstairs in the winter 😀 )

From here you can either hike directly into the romantic Krummbachtal or Wilde Grimml or take the train up and hike to the Isskogel and the Latschensee including the Latschenalm.
