The Col is a saddle sitting at the end of Narrow Neck Plateau, where the plateau drops into the Jamison and Kedumba Valleys. From The Cold, hikers can peer past sandstone stacks down the Kedumba Valley and into the green eucalyptus forest extending toward Mount Solitary.

Rawson Pass sits at about 2,100 meters above sea level. Its the high saddle where the Main Range Track encounters the Mount Kosciuszko summit path. It's a junction and turning point, with trails leading either to the summit or back toward Charlotte Pass. The exposed alpine gives wide views across the plateau, making it a natural turning point on the circuit. Environmentally designed composting toilets are located here, but there's no water or shelter, so walkers need to come prepared.

In the off-season it's more of a lost place.

We needed 3.5h gross including many photo stops. I guess, when the weather ist not so nice, it would take more time. Dont underestimate the long dirt road to the trailhrad. Jacobs ladder, the final and very steep part, is a challenge with a low clearance compact car.
