The castle pond in Untereggen in the canton of St. Gallen is 549 meters above sea level. Embedded by lush pastures and located in a nature reserve, the idyllic pond is framed by a reed belt. Water lilies can be admired on the castle pond. As an amphibian spawning area, the small lake offers a home to a large number of animals. The pond is a good 300m long and around 100m wide at its widest point. The Schlossweier is a very popular local recreation area. MÖTTELI CASTLE OR SULZBERG CASTLE As the name suggests, the castle pond also includes a castle. This is Sulzberg Castle, also known colloquially as Mötteli Castle. The castle is around 200 meters northeast of the lake and is privately owned.
