Bischofszell The Bishop of Konstanz and Abbot of St.Gallen Salomo III. built a tower at the beginning of the 10th century as a secular administration center for the episcopal goods and the collegiate church of St. Pelagius. The Grubenmann brothers from Ausserrhodischen planned the reconstruction of the city and built a dozen stately town houses, including the museum, the Dallerhaus and the Scherb semi-detached house with the unique facade decoration. In 1987, the town of Bischofszell was the first Thurgau municipality to be honored with the renowned Wakker Prize by the Swiss Heritage Society.
