Most Beautiful Vineyard View in the Bernkastel-Wittlich District Of the five proposals in the Mosel wine-growing region, the application from Lieser (Bernkastel-Wittlich District) received the most votes, making it the "Most Beautiful Vineyard View 2020" on the Mosel. The location at the Hambuchhütte near Lieser will be marked with a stele provided by the German Wine and Wine Association (DWI). "The 'Most Beautiful Vineyard View' award is given to vantage points that offer impressive views of Germany's wine-growing landscapes and are also easily accessible by hikers or bikers." The chapel was built to commemorate the victims of World War II. It was originally called the "War Memorial Chapel." It was consecrated on Ascension Day by Pastor Heinrich Kurtenbach. In 2006, tourists donated a statue of St. Joseph. The name "Josefsberg," however, has nothing to do with St. Joseph; rather, it derives from the local mayor, Josef Bartel, who had the "Ginsterberg" divided in 1900. Since then, it has been referred to as both "Josefsberg" and "Ginsterberg."

Nice quiet place to take a break from hiking. Below the chapel is a barrel swing 🥰

At first glance it looks like a waterfall. On closer inspection you can see that it is rubble. Very impressive.
