The tower is cordoned off and inaccessible. The last renovation was in 1984. I assume that after more than 40 years, it's time for a thorough inspection of the tower and its 125 steps leading to the viewing platform.

Crossing the stream becomes an adventure, especially after rain or during floods. The mossy stones are extremely slippery and slick. It's not for nothing that the Monbach stream is divided into sectors by signs. If something does happen, emergency services know the best way to approach the accident scene.

There are also beautiful hiking trails and paths to explore that run parallel to the Monbach halfway up.

A beautiful, varied path with some challenges to overcome. It is best to visit during the week and when the weather is not so perfect. Otherwise you will constantly have to avoid other visitors. It is a very popular destination during the holidays and at weekends.
