This rock breakthrough was most likely initiated by the Kipper Brewery in order to get from the nearby "Schloss Küppelstein" (was demolished around 1952) to the viewing point above the Teufelsfelsen. Küppelstein Castle belonged to the Kipper Brewery and was built in 1893, at the same time the Müngsten Bridge was built.

Great place to stay and for kids. By the way, a stream flows along the path, benches with funny wooden mushrooms, a climbing rock and a hollowed-out tree trunk - little people can shelter here when it rains 😉
