Steel Rigg은 하드리아누스 성벽의 높고 중앙 부분에 있는 가장 아름다운 전망대 중 하나입니다.

Cold Fell(621m/2,037ft)은 Tindale Tarn 바로 남쪽에 있는 다소 외지고 습한 산봉우리입니다. Hallbankgate에서 출발하여 Brunwath Viewpoint를 포함하는 좋은 하이킹 코스를 제공합니다. 영국에서 지정한 Nuttall 및 Marilyn으로서 광활한 컴브리아와 레이크 디스트릭트의 전망을 제공하는 인기 있는 하이킹 장소입니다.

시카모어 갭 나무는 하드리아누스 방벽을 따라 극적인 웅덩이에 위치한 200년 이상 된 상징적인 나무였습니다. 이 나무는 케빈 코스트너와 모건 프리먼이 정확히 이 장소에서 장면을 연기한 로빈 후드 영화로 유명해졌습니다. 안타깝게도 톱을 든 악의적이고 복수심에 불타는 인간에게는 맞설 수 없었습니다.

Cawfields Quarry is a former quarry located directly on Hadrian's Wall near Haltwhistle. Constructed in the early 20th century, the quarry cut through the Roman wall, exposing the underlying dolerite rock of the Whin Sill. This geological formation formed a natural defensive line upon which the Romans built their wall. Following the quarry's closure, the site has been redeveloped into a peaceful recreation area with a picturesque lake, picnic areas, and walking trails. The area offers direct access to Milecastle 42.

As of September 27th 2023 we are shocked and desperately saddened to learn that the famous Sycamore Gap tree at Hadrian's Wall has been felled overnight in what appears to be a wanton act of vandalism. We know just how much this iconic tree is loved locally, nationally and by everyone who has visited. This is a beautiful spot in an old quarry and the start for many a good walk. There are nice views of the quarry and nearby parts of Hadrians Wall. It is also a perfect place for picnics and has good facilities too.
