The Schloss Schartenfels restaurant is not a historic building. It was built in 1881 by Gottfried Anner from Baden on the Lägernfels as a vineyard cottage with a tower. Just one year later, he was granted permission to open a summer restaurant. In 1894 it was expanded into a castle-like complex.
