Singletary Lake State Park is a lovely spot for a quiet stop if you are passing through the area, surrounded by longleaf pine woods and pocosin wetlands that border a natural Carolina bay lake. While the park is geared toward group camping, you can stretch your legs on forest roads and catch glimpses of the lake from the shoreline.
