암각화 유적지 방문은 해안으로 가파르게 내려가는 짧은 산책입니다. 위험을 경고하는 표지판이 곳곳에 있습니다. 다소 가파른 접근 가능한 바위는 물에 극도로 노출되어 있으며, 폭풍우와 습기 시에는 생명의 위험이 있습니다. 물에 휩쓸려 사망하거나 부상을 입은 사람들이 있었습니다. 과거에는 접근 가능한 플랫폼이 있었던 것으로 보입니다. 하지만 2026년 5월 31일 저희 방문 시에는 이 모든 것이 문제가 되지 않습니다. 잔잔한 바다와 눈부신 푸른 하늘 아래, 저희는 다소 빛바랜 그림들을 앉아서 감상할 수 있습니다. 오늘 17번 고속도로 통행이 차단되었지만, 저희는 어제부터 Lake Superior Provincial Park에 있었고 며칠 더 머물 예정이므로 도로 폐쇄의 영향을 받지 않습니다.

아가와 록 암각화는 슈피리어 호수의 우뚝 솟은 화강암 절벽면에 있는 35개의 붉은 황토 그림 모음입니다. 오지브웨이족 언어로 이 지역은 '아가와 호수의 장식된 바위'를 의미하는 마지나우비킹닝으로 알려져 있습니다. 이 글리프는 주차장에서 멀지 않은 곳에 있지만, 이 장소에 접근하려면 수면 바로 옆의 좁은 바위 선반을 협상해야 하므로 악천후 시에는 시도해서는 안 되는 하이킹입니다.

Gooseberry Falls State Park is littered with lots of different waterfalls and cascades, but this is by far the easiest viewing area to get to (and one of the best collections of waterfalls in the park). There are three main cascades that you can see from this viewing area that have something to offer all year long.

Presque Isle Park is the crowned jewel for exploring nature in Marquette. The park features walking trails and paved roads for walking, driving, and biking. The isle stretches out into Lake Superior via some rocky outcrops and a breakwater, both of which you can walk out onto. The paved road loop is closed to cars 2 hours each day, that way cyclists can safely have the road to themselves. Check at the visitor's center to get the daily closure hours!
