The Angón pass is surrounded by impressive grey limestone massifs typical of the Picos de Europa. Here, the views alternate between the intense green of the forest, the blue of the sky, and the majesty of the surrounding peaks.

Connecting two slopes on the hillside, a steep rocky path leads up and down the rocky slope. This offers fascinating views of the village of Sotres below in the high valley and the surrounding mountains. The view extends beyond the village down into the valley of the Rio Duje with its winter Alps. Behind it rise the rocky mountains of the Picos de Europa. In spring, the views are even more magnificent due to the blossoming flowers. The mighty golden-yellow broom bushes, in particular, illuminate the rocky slopes.

The Alto de Ortiguero or Alto de las Estazadas is a mountain pass located in Asturias, in the eastern part of Asturias, close to the Picos de Europa. It has two main slopes, the east and the west, and is a classic climb in the region. Main characteristics according to different routes: • From Carreña, the climb is approximately 4.7 km with a vertical drop of 249 meters. • Via Onís, the climb is 5.5 km with a vertical drop of 184 meters and an average gradient of 3.36%. • Another version indicates a climb of 3.3 km with an average gradient of approximately 6.3%, classified as category 3.

Great starting point for a tour to Picu Urriellu

Great views of the surrounding mountains

Right at the start, after about 10-15 minutes of hiking, you'll be rewarded with a breathtaking view of Pico Urriellu. Be aware that it can be very windy at times.

Collada Bonita is a small fork that connects the jou Tras el Picu with the Hoyacón de Villasobrada and the jou de los Machos. The views to one side and the other are wonderful.
