There is an ornamental garden on the estate that can still be visited today. The ornamental garden was the showpiece of the former residents of Gooilust. All kinds of exotic trees and shrubs grow in the shelter. In the walled garden you will find stinzen plants, roses, special trees and fruit varieties. Check the Natuurmonumenten website for opening hours and explore the garden! Many rhododendrons grow on Gooilust. In recent years, diseased specimens have been removed and the rest look beautiful again. It is especially beautiful here in May when the rhododendrons are in bloom. Via a viewpoint you walk along a path that goes through a hedge of rhododendrons. At the end of the 18th century, a Star Forest was created at Gooilust. With a pond in the middle and eight beech avenues that lead to the pond; hence the name Sterrenbos.
