Super curve training

The 18.6 km MTB loop winds its way through the woods (Het Sweeltje, Reigersbroek, and Rosendaal) near Montfort, with countless curves and gentle ups and downs. If you love the Wild Mouse roller coaster at the fair, this is the place for you 😅 Some of the climbs are quite challenging, but with timely gear changes, they're manageable even on a regular bike. The connecting sections between the wooded areas offer plenty of opportunities to catch your breath. Apart from two small jumps that can be bypassed, there are currently no drops or jumps. Therefore, this loop is highly recommended for beginners! A great practice track for visual cues and line choice 👍 The circuit is quite challenging, though, and requires constant attention ☝️ The surface is currently a bit sandy, and I drifted quite a bit in some of the corners 😅 The rapidly changing corners are a blast, and you're constantly on edge 😎

Beautifully laid out and maintained route

Former hunting lodge, then monastery and elderly care facility and currently (2022) campus for international sports talent. Huis Watersley was built in the mid-18th century as a hunting lodge for the Maastricht family Loyens-Delhougne. In 1876, it passed to a German monastic order and was sold shortly afterwards to a Franciscan Order, who extensively renovated the building to establish a grammar school. In the centuries that followed, Huis Watersley was further expanded and added to, until the Paulus Foundation (later Stichting Pergamijn) housed care for people with intellectual disabilities in the stately building in 1967, after which they also decided to sell it again after a merger. Finding a new purpose for the 30-hectare site, which includes the former monastery with monastery chapel, various homes and an apartment building, was not easy, but with the establishment and expansion of an international campus for sports talent, the beautiful domain has found a future again. On the estate you will find challenging and beautiful MTB trails.

Nice relaxed line that you can tackle comfortably

Due to the very loose soil, especially after a long period of drought, beginners will sometimes have to push here. I didn't really like driving along the fence all the time either.
