The Freudenau Castle ruins are idyllically situated above the banks of the Aare River near Stilli and are a silent witness to medieval history. Lanhvogteischloss is a small castle in the city of Baden. It is located on the right bank of the Limmat opposite the old town and once guarded the narrow passage between the Schlossberg in the west (with Stein Castle) and the Lägern in the east.

Freudenau ruins were built around 1240. The former lowland castle, then a small town, is located on the right bank of the Aare in the municipality of Untersiggenthal. It is freely accessible and has two barbecue areas with tables and benches. A quiet place to linger. You can walk all the way around the ruins. From the Aare side, there is a very beautiful tree with long and visible roots.

The Niderhus was built in the 12th century as a counterpart to Stein Castle. Over the centuries it was rebuilt several times by different owners (Counts of Lenzburg, Counts of Kyburg, etc.) and has housed the Baden Museum since the beginning of the 20th century.
