The St. Luzisteig Fortress was a defensive position of the Swiss Army. It is located on the St. Luzisteig Pass at an altitude of 713 meters in the canton of Graubünden and was part of the Sargans fortifications. Steep climb, but no problem with e. Exciting views from the tunnel windows. 👌

A really beautiful mountain pass that takes you from the canton of Graubünden to Glarus (Elm). The last part is up a steep metal staircase, otherwise it would be quite a climb! You can also sit very nicely on the rocks above the hut.

Paths leading from here to the Regitzerspitz may be closed during shooting operations and must then be avoided.

The small village of St. Luzisteig has a lovely inn and a church, which is unfortunately closed. There's also a military museum nearby.

The last few meters from the Graubünden side used to be a somewhat demanding scramble - but for some time now it has been possible without any problems thanks to a stable metal staircase
