The Collado de los Pastores is a beautiful landmark in the Sierra de Guadarrama, located in the area of La Pedriza, near Manzanares el Real, in the Community of Madrid. This hill offers stunning panoramic views of the region, including the Bola del Mundo, the Cuerda Larga and the granite Pedriza. One of the popular routes to reach the Collado de los Pastores begins at the Canto Cochino car park. From there, you ascend the Cuerda de los Porrones, passing by the Mirador de la Pedriza, until you reach the hill.

Collado de los Pastores, located in La Pedriza at 1750m, is an excellent place to enjoy the best views of La Pedriza in its entirety. It is right at the base of Pico de la Maliciosa.

Beautiful place to the left of the Fuenfría valley. A hill that reaches a height of 1750 m. and which is located between Peña Bercial and Peña del Águila.

It is halfway up the climb to La Peñota, so it is a good point to stop on days without a storm. On stormy days it may be too exposed to the wind to make a stop at this hill.

One of the most recommended routes through the Guadarrama National Park for gravel or mountain biking is the one popularly known as the “Pista de las Zetas”, which ascends from Canto Cochino to Collado de los Pastores, at the base of the Ball of the World and Maliciosa. The route runs entirely on a dirt track, except for the first two kilometers and, due to its moderate demand (about 1,000 meters of elevation gain), it is only recommended for people with minimal physical preparation. The route can be done clockwise (Canto Cochino, Berzosillo, Collado de los Pastores...) or counterclockwise (Canto Cochino, Charca Verde, Cruce de la Nava...), the second option being more bearable, since the ascent It lasts for more kilometers, resulting in a less demanding average slope. On the hill is the picturesque viewpoint, an excellent place to enjoy the best views of La Pedriza in its entirety.

The Collado de los Pastores, or shepherds' pass in French, is located on a wide rolling path coming from Manzanares el Real. There is a lookout point there, offering beautiful views of the granite formations of La Pedriza.
