The Arenal de l'Almortxó is a municipal natural area located in the northwest of Petrer, in the province of Alicante. It is a truly unique site due to its geology and biodiversity, and stands out as the largest active inland sandbank in the Iberian Peninsula.

I had never been to the area because it does not have much visual appeal, since there are hardly any trees and the vegetation is bushes and esparto grass. But the two climbs we did, to Alto de Cámara and Bolón, were short but quite demanding and I did like them.

El Pocico Alonso is a small fountain that has been the subject of attention and restoration over the years. After decades of abandonment, it was rebuilt by residents of the area, hikers and, finally, the Community of Irrigators of Elda and the Environment Department of this town.

La Silla del Cid is an imposing mountain formation in the province of Alicante, located between the municipalities of Petrel and Monforte del Cid. This mountain range occupies an approximate area of 51 km² and is part of the Sierra del Cid and Maigmó Natural Area.

With the suggestive name of La Silla del Cid, this 1,147-meter-high summit is one of the most emblematic peaks in the Medio Vinalopó region due to the fantastic views from the top.
