The Ossero Ford is located in the Ruidera Lakes Natural Park, within the municipality of Ossa de Montiel (Albacete), on the border with Villahermosa (Ciudad Real). It is a natural area that forms part of the Ossero Trail, an easy interpretive route (5.3 km one way) that skirts the Tomilla and Conceja lagoons, connecting with the Laguna Blanca.

In the municipality of Villahermosa, 16 km away, is the Laguna Blanca, the first of the lagoons that form the Lagunas de Ruidera Natural Park, known as the Oasis of La Mancha. During rainy years, the Laguna Blanca becomes a luxury for lovers of natural baths, since its gentle slope, shallow depth and peaceful environment make it an exceptional “natural pool.”

Pass that helps to create the Río Guadiana Viejo and that is surrounded by flat wetlands that, depending on the time of year, are more or less full of water.

Beautiful trail, part of the Senda del Pie de Enmedio, that allows us to enjoy the privileged views of the San Pedro Lagoon, which is part of the Lagunas de Ruidera natural park. Las Lagunas de Ruidera is one of the largest wetlands of importance, made up of 15 lagoons in a total of 30 kilometers.

The lagoon is of karstic origin and has an area of about 25 hectares. It is an important wetland that is home to numerous species of migratory and aquatic birds, such as ducks, herons and coots. It is also an important habitat for reptiles and amphibians, such as the water snake and natterjack toad. On the banks there are some recreational areas with tables, benches and barbecues where you can enjoy a picnic. There is also a bird observatory.

A wetland with a surface area of 522ha, recognized as a natural monument of Castilla-La Mancha. Next to it is another smaller lagoon. The vegetation of the area corresponds to a forest of junipers and holm oaks. Recommended visit at any time of the year.
