The back part of the loop is beautiful, but partly overgrown and partly covered with thorny bushes. If you don't like that, it's better to take the shortcut.

Uli note note - old path is completely overgrown, you can still walk, but very tiring - tip: hike to the wonderful view of the dam wall, then turn around briefly and use the path with the arrow to go down

I have gone this month of July and we could not access it, the road is fenced.

The Charco Redondo Reservoir is located in the heart of the Alcornocales Natural Park and can be visited by following a circular path known as El Palancar that starts right next to the A-381 motorway. A very quiet and picturesque place that is worth visiting.

At this point, on the other side of the road, there is a series of curious rock formations, which like fluffy clouds in the sky suggest numerous shapes to the imagination. One of them is popularly known as "Montera del Torero" for its unmistakable shape. They can be accessed by walking along a path that leaves the road.

Very popular area for mountain biking due to its numerous tracks and paths that offer multiple combinations of routes, always accompanied by good views and a privileged environment.
