Tough climb, but the reward of the views is a gift

a short passage that requires a little skill clambering over rocks. The start is a narrow passage where some people might need to take off their rucksack.

Natural passage between the Tagarina ravine and Benimantell. Currently widened: it is said that in its origins it was used by shepherds to count the heads of cattle due to the narrowness of the passage. The surroundings are impressive and the views on either side of the pass are spectacular.

This is a passage with two very short chain-insured sections. One route leads between a crevice in the rock. The chain can be helpful when climbing to pull yourself up. On the other route, a narrow path leads over coarser scree, so you don't really need the chain. Viewed from above, it looks worse than it is.

It's a beautiful climb, between pine and olive trees, about 12 kilometers long, with good road surfaces and usually little motorized traffic. It has an average gradient of 5% and a total ascent of over 600 meters. A classic in the area.
