The viewing platform can be reached via 225 steps. Above the treetops, there is a unique panoramic view from the Black Forest to the Alps. The Hagenhütte is about a 10-minute walk below the Hagenturm. This hut is open to everyone all year round, every weekend on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (current opening times: http://kos-altkadetten.ch/) Drinks, a small snack and delicious cakes can be bought from the hut warden. The range varies depending on the hut warden.

The ascent to the Buchberg summit is a bit strenuous but definitely worth it. Fantastic vision, in clear weather up to the Alps.

There are no restaurants here, but there is a large meadow right next to the tower with several fireplaces, benches and wood provided. But be careful: the wood is left unprotected in the open air, so it takes a long time to start a fire after long periods of rain. The Hagenturm is a top intermediate destination on a hike from Merishausen to Bargen, the northernmost municipality in Switzerland. Güterhof Freier Platz 10 The Güterhof, built in 1787, used to serve as a warehouse for transit salt and is located in the former port district, today's Schifflände.
