Wonderful views over the coast and to Wales. I came up some hike a bike crazy bridleway but I'm sure there is easier ways to ascend before you get ready for the crazy single track descent.

Horner Wood is a truly beautiful ancient oak woodland. It's a wonderful place for a relaxing walk or a more intense hike, depending on which route you take. It's such a magical place and well worth a visit.

Selworthy Beacon is a hill and Marilyn of Exmoor in Somerset, England. It lies within the boundaries of Exmoor National Park, to the north of the village of Selworthy and northwest of Minehead.

Dunkery Beacon at the summit of Dunkery Hill is the highest point on Exmoor and in Somerset, England. It is also the highest point in southern England outside of Dartmoor. The sandstone hill rises to 519 metres and provides views over the surrounding moorland, the Bristol Channel, and hills up to 86 miles away.

This incredible National Nature Reserve, located alongside the Horner Water, is home to beautiful ancient oak woods and trails that make it a delightful place for running.

An intriguing landscape can be observed on one side of the path, where you'll encounter the 'skeletons' of a bunch of dead trees, creating a picturesque scene. There are some more at another point along the way

Some of the paths in Horner wood have been closed due to ash tree die back. These closures appear long term. Diversions are not marked. It affects the paths next to the stream.

Lovely part of the country with some great easy walks. On a good day you can see across the water to Wales.

Horner Wood is one of the largest unenclosed ancient oak woodlands in Britain. Within the majestic woodland, you find impressive oaks more than 500 years old, over 200 species of lichen, more than 400 species of fungi, 14 species of bat, as well as many species of birds and butterflies.
