Parliament Square is a square at the north-west end of the Palace of Westminster in the City of Westminster in central London, England. Small green area with many sculptures of famous people including Sir Winston Churchill, Mahatma Ghandi, Nelson Mandela and many more. The area invites you to linger and take a break before moving on to the next large building, Westminster Abbey.

It is impressive that Mahatma Gandhi, who brought down British rule over India, can be found in bronze next to Churchill in the heart of the government district. An extremely honourable and self-critical way of expressing himself. Very British.

Bring extra clothes if you are with kids. They are going to get wet here. it is allowed to wade in the fountain. Beautiful place to sit and relax. Be aware of the opening hours.

The park provides impressive floral schemes surrounded by manicured lawns. The “Tropical Border” is one of the finest in London during the summer months. The site has many fine specimen trees and unusual shrubs. A bandstand has a programme of events throughout the summer and visitors to the gardens can sit in deckchairs to enjoy.
