Høystakka Waterfall plunges down a steep rock face, sending spray into the air as it carves its way through the rugged mountainside. The trail approaching the falls follows natural, sometimes uneven terrain with rocky sections and patches of grass, adding a touch of adventure to the experience.

With a trekking backpack, the descent section should not be underestimated. You'll have to backclimb over rocks several times, or abseil down. Steel ropes are available wherever necessary. However, with a good level of fitness, this is no problem.

How this huge chunk ended up on its supports will probably remain a mystery forever. But it's still very impressive to look at, isn't it?

what to say An almost lovely green valley with a rushing river in the middle. At one end birch forest and Lake Gjende, at the other end a spectacular waterfall (Hellerfossen). Simply wonderful nature!

Beautiful waterfall! The view from the ledge at the top is particularly beautiful when you can see the water flowing down and then meandering through Stora Valley. With us in July (2015), the Hellerfossen also represented the border between the already completely green valley below and almost continuous snow cover above the waterfall.

The Bukkelægret at the end of the tour is very strenuous in the descent, if necessary you should think about the alternative route through the Storådalen.
