Of Snøhetta's major summits, Stortoppen is the tallest, towering to 2,286 metres (7,500 ft), making it the highest mountain in Norway outside Jotunheimen. It's most often ascended from Snøheim or Reinheim and the hike along its east ridge is rocky, tough but not overly technical. This quaint hillside botanical garden is just off the road and is home to hundreds of different plant species, all marked with multilingual signs. The winding paths are demarcated with wooden slats and there are also several wooden bridges in the garden. If you want to walk everything, you have to overcome a few meters in altitude.
