Like his father-in-law, he immortalized the landscapes of the Flemish Ardennes in his paintings. The Leo Piron Trail connects Nukerke with Zulzeke and runs along a so-called "hollow road." This was created by a natural erosion process: centuries of use of the same path, on foot or by horse and cart, loosened soil is loosened and washed away by rainwater.
