The Hunsberg street, together with the surrounding streets such as Breestraten and Kleistraat, forms the core of the hamlet of the same name, which is located on the border of Merchtem and the sub-municipality of Brussegem, and extends north and south of the Wolvertemsesteenweg. The name would date from the 19th century, and was previously so-called "Heinsberg". The toponym refers to the Hunsberg, a motte at a height of 40 meters, now situated at the Wolvertemsesteenweg, northwest of the intersection with the Kleistraat. The current U-shaped remnant with a diameter of 37 meters and a height of 6 to 7 meters indicates a large artificial embankment, which has been affected over time by leveling works. There are traces of a moat around the upper court in the shape of a 3-metre-wide crescent, interrupted on the badly damaged northern side of the motte. On the other hand, no traces of the farmyard have been preserved.

I went back today and this bike park has been modified again since my last visit. There are two parts and the lower part includes really big jumps! There is something fun for the little that we like Gravity :-)

Can be muddy in winter

Small bike park located in a corner of the Parc des Sources.

Nice bucolic single, perharps a must-ride in this area. OK to ride in both directions (not too steep). Can get busy on week-ends (hikers), be watchful.
