The climb is worth it

Small but nice and beautiful MTB practice course.

Departing from Rifugio De Doo with the rental bikes was a fantastic experience. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, helping us choose the bikes that best fit our needs and providing us with all the information we needed about the route. The bikes were in great condition, well maintained and comfortable to ride. The surrounding area offers breathtaking views and well marked trails, making the start of the hike pleasant and smooth. I would highly recommend this service to anyone who wants to explore the area in an active and fun way.

The bikes were in excellent condition and well maintained. The surrounding area offers breathtaking views and well-marked trails, making the start of the hike pleasant and smooth.

If you use the 3 Zinnenbahn for the ascent, then my tip is to go over the Klammbachalm (the best Kaiserschmarren in the valley!) and then choose the hiking trail towards Negerdörfer. You then come out directly at the trailhead and save yourself the serpentines on the gravel road to get to the start.

A wide forest path leads to the Leckfeldalm with a fairly moderate incline, the hut is a good place to stop. The road is also easy to drive on by car and so there is a lot of traffic in summer. Again and again you have a beautiful view of Sillian and the mountains opposite.

Depending on where you start the Stoneman, this is the 1,2,3,4, or 5 checkpoint😉. The Leckfeldsattel checkpoint is at 2380m, from here it is not far to the well-deserved break at the Sillianer Hütte. Until then it is 10km uphill with an average of 13%, the magnificent view compensates for all the effort.

An increase that has it all. On the 10km to the Sillian Hütte you have to cover almost 1400m in altitude, the average of 13% and peaks of almost 20% are a real challenge.
