From Mezzenile, 2024 brought new asphalt and it's a good ride compared to before. Beautiful but the second half is quite challenging, especially the last 3 km. Top views at the top from both sides. It deserves it.

Above Chiaves, you go downhill and you can go down towards Val Grande

Climb (Ceres side) with rather long stretches constantly in double figures, with peaks over 15%. A lot of rough asphalt in the final three kilometres

Road with little traffic even on a Sunday in July, demanding especially in the final stretch going up from Viù. The final kilometer is closed to motor traffic every Thursday in July-August (so says a sign). Disastrous asphalt in the upper part of the descent towards Mezzenile, craters, depressions, various debris, you can never get the bike to run. I think it's better to go up on that side and go down to Viù
