Peak of 1974m. To date, access is only permitted along the SE ridge (from Montagnone 1819m) or from Balzo di Ciotto (without a marked path). A few kilometers from the town of Alvito, among the mountains bordering Abruzzo, there is the so-called Fossa Maiura (815 m), a karst depression that almost forms a natural amphitheater: it is a gigantic sinkhole about 100 meters deep and about 3 km in circumference, in the shape of an inverted truncated cone with a perimeter of more than a kilometer. This is where the waters that feed the Fibreno originate.

It's magnificent in its beauty and calm. Three deer rushed in front of us and crossed the path. Further into the woods, loose horses walked in front of us.

This peak (1776 m) is part of the Abruzzo group of the Marsicani Mountains and is located on the border of the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park. From here it is possible to see Sora, the Lepini Mountains and the Sacco Valley.
