Argimusco is a plateau located in Sicily, just north of Etna, approximately on the border between the Nebrodi and Peloritani mountains, and is administratively divided between the municipalities of Montalbano Elicona, Tripi (which stands on the site of ancient Abacaenum) and Roccella Valdemone. The ascent from Linguaglossa up to the Refugio Citelli is a little less demanding than the southward climb from Catania to the Refugio Sapienza. Here are 1210 vertical meters to overcome, the road winds in many curves but only very moderately steeply the Etna northeast flank. Since the route also leads through forest, one is protected on hot days a little from the sun. The track is very well developed and in good condition. In contrast to the Catania rise, the traffic is much lower, which of course is pleasant.
