Panoramic point from which to admire the landscape up to the sea

The famous tree-lined road immortalized in the verses of the poet Giosuè Carducci The suggestive Viale dei Cipressi is located in the municipality of Castagneto Carducci, and is a five-kilometer-long tree-lined road that connects the Oratory of San Guido to the historic center of the village of Bolgheri. A very long straight road, flanked by two rows of very thick centuries-old cypress trees, 2540 in total, which was created in the 19th century when, by rebuilding the Via Regia, perpendicular roads were created to connect it with the inland towns and villages: one of these was precisely the Stradone di San Guido. The avenue was then embellished with cypresses by order of Count Guido Alberto and became famous thanks to the famous poem "Davanti San Guido" by the poet Giosuè Carducci

This panoramic point, located within the protected area of Macchia della Magona, allows you to observe some inhabited centers in the distance (Cecina and Casale Marittimo, for example), but also the island of Elba and the famous mill of Bibbona.

Beautiful walk with a steep climb. You can make an extra round to a quarry halfway (up and down again and then continue the route). You will come across a picnic table (fire prohibited).
