Nearby and easily accessible is the Rifugio Sebastiani, the starting point for excursions in the Reatini Mountains.

The Amiternina provincial road begins from the shores of the Salto lake near Fiumata and climbs to the 1350 meters of Forca di Castiglione, passing through narrow gorges and wide plateaus in the heart of the Cicolano Mountains on the Lazio side, to descend steeply towards Tornimparte on the Abruzzo side .
