A unique historical and spiritual complex, carved into the rock along the walls of the Aniene valley. These hermitages are linked to the figure of Saint Benedict of Norcia, who stayed there briefly in 503. During his time at San Cosimato, it is said that the monks attempted to poison him, but the vessel containing the poison miraculously shattered when Benedict blessed it with the sign of the cross. The caves, accessible via a staircase carved into the rock, include a rock chapel dedicated to Saint Michael the Archangel, rich in frescoes, and an ossuary. The convent above, built later by Benedictine monks, was dedicated to the saintly doctors Cosma and Damiano. This place combines history, art and spirituality in a suggestive naturalistic context.

The Simbruini Mountains Park is a protected mountain area with peaks reaching 2000 meters in altitude. Here you pedal immersing yourself in breathtaking views!

This source of very fresh water is located near the village and can be reached by following a short stretch of the Coleman Trail. Right next to the stream there is a sculpture dedicated to the Cinetesi women (of Cineto Romano) who with their work have left a mark in the history of the town.

These are the ruins of the ancient town of Camerata which was destroyed in 1881 by a fire. A very suggestive place with stone houses set and built into the rock. Among the ruins stands out a majestic arch carved into the rock dating back to the 16th century. It is worth taking a walk here from Camerata Nuova to take a step back in time.

The Rioscuro stream is among the Natural Monuments of Lazio and is a protected area. The clear waters are home to crayfish and spectacled salamander. Biological indicators of ecosystem integrity. These waterfalls are a hidden jewel of the Lucretili mountains and a testimony to the richness of biodiversity of the natural areas around the capital!

This path was designed to recall a four-day journey, carried out by the painter Enrico Coleman. The final destination is the Simbruini mountains.
