Powered by an underground pipeline that conveys the rain that has fallen to the surrounding areas, it manages to win the "battle" against the strong evaporation caused by the heat. And so it is visible and open to visitors throughout the year.

The only citizen testimony of a heritage of extraordinary beauty that still presents many mysterious points to be clarified. A heritage that (unfortunately) is also forgotten and literally trampled on by ignorance and ingratitude towards a glorious past that this land can boast! A scholar of the subject (Aldo TAVOLARO) traces it back to the Neolithic (4000-1500 BC). The monolith is in an evident state of neglect and decay and is also slightly moved and damaged. The only ally to shade him and offer him some protection is a relatively young olive tree grown right next to it. It seems that in ancient times an imposing farm was built in this area, which was demolished to make room for one of the most important road arteries of the city and to allow the creation of numerous barracks.
