The Menhir was located by Prof. Cosimo De Giorgi in 1881 and later photographed by the scholar Maggiulli in 1915. The monolith is located on a NNO - SSE direction. A graffitied cross is still visible on one facade.

The Menhir was discovered by Oreste Caroppo in 1993. The monolith is distinguished from other Menhirs by two quite evident characteristics, its bicuspid top and a square cavity on one of the main facades. Height: 1.25 meters

Historian Palumbo believes it has been moved from its original location. Crosses are engraved on the faces, a sign of the Christianisation of the monument.
