The loricate pines of the Pollino National Park are resilient and long-lived plants; among all, Italus stands out which with its 1235 years in 2023 is the oldest tree in Europe.

Along the slopes of the Orsomarso towards the villages of the Arbëreshe ethnic group, San Basile, Saracena, Firmo, Lungro, Acquaformosa: a magnificent journey between nature and culture, landscape and history.

This is a very panoramic stretch from which to observe the road you have just traveled on and the one you will face. The Calabrian mountains are a real show, I suggest you observe and photograph them.

We are almost at 1600 meters and from here we have a beautiful panoramic view of Monte Timpone di Sant'Angelo, Colle della Maddalena and Monte Scaletra.

The Ficara waterfall is part of the Valle del Fiume Argentino nature reserve, and is fed by the water brought from the Ficara canal. In this area there are various animals, including roe deer, wild boars, foxes and hares.

Hike in the Pollino National Park as part of the "Pollino 2022" tourist pilot project in and around Morano Calabro, a must-see town in Calabria, Italy. Spectacular views! Tip for a beer after the activity: "My Coffee" bar next to the town hall!
