The detour is highly recommended - the view is great! There are ladders to help in some places.

The path runs counterclockwise very well, so that you can really enjoy the rest areas by the lakes in the last part.

Here the stone blocks have pushed over each other in such a way that a small cave has emerged - the stone cellar.

Special piece of rock 15 meters high that was left lost 10,000 years ago when the inland ice sheet started to melt.

I visited in December, at the time the paths were not covered in snow, some ice in spots and icicles hanging from rock structures but still a very walkable time. Beside to check daylight hours and weather before starting a trek in the winter months. The boulders were truly spectacular and it was one of my favourite treks ever.

The trail is very lonely early in the morning (9am). Also on weekends in high season. I didn't meet anyone there for almost an hour. Most impressively anti-clockwise, then you are very quickly surrounded by very deep jungle.

The detour from the yellow hiking trail is rather difficult, but short (100m) and slippery when wet.
