The Caledonia Falls in Cyprus are located near the village of Platres in Troodos. This beautiful waterfall is one of the highest in Cyprus and is surrounded by forest and is most popular in summer when it offers a cool and shady retreat from the strong midday sun. It was a nice short hike.

The waterfall itself is not terribly impressive, but the short hike to get there is a nice one with lots of shade. Can get quite crowded, we were glad we combined it with the beautiful Pouziaris Hike nearby where we only ran into one other group on the whole trail (and they had gotten lost looking for the waterfall...)

Nice and flat circular trail

Trail is ok, but has a larger part of rocky forest roads - not very entertaining.

Great views in all directions. You need to go the longer Pouziaris Trail, not the shortcut. Be prepared for some rocky paths...

First of the two waterfalls, 1.5 km from the start... make sure you continue all the way to the 2nd.

The summit of Pouziaris rises above the town of Pano Platres and offers a fantastic panorama. There are two benches in quick succession for a break, one of which is even covered. From here you can look down on the Kouris reservoir to the sea near Limassol. At an altitude of 1,600 meters the temperature is a lot colder than on the coast, so I recommend bringing a jacket.

The Atalante Trail circles the Olympos at around 1770 m. Those who want to go higher have to take the Artemis Trail, at 1840 m, but only half as long. Both paths are beautiful, but do not reach the summit (which is 1952 m).
