The Haard is a forest area of around 55 km² on hilly terrain, which lies north of the Ruhr area in the district of Recklinghausen. When you visit the Stimberg, you will experience nature and contemporary history - on the edge of the Ruhr area, the largest metropolitan area in the country. The Stimberg has changed a lot in the past decades and centuries. At the top, you can enjoy an impressive view of a small heath landscape. Forest playground Dachsberg A very popular destination for families with children is the forest playground in Flaesheim, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the Dachsberg hiking car park.
