Very worth seeing, you have to see it

The Hintersee is a small swimming lake with a jetty. Something hidden. This means you usually have peace and quiet.

With almost 30 hectares in size and numerous rare animal and plant species, the Butzener Bagen is one of the 100 most valuable moors in Brandenburg. It gets its water from the immediate vicinity and from the mountain lake on the other side. The mountain lake used to be a stream, and the wall you are standing on here was artificially built in the first half of the 20th century to dam up the lake. The ditch that the bridge crosses drained the area for many years. During this time, residents were allowed to use parts of the Bagen as grassland. With drainage, however, the bog lost many of its important functions. It was not until 2006 that the Garben at the Bagen outflow was closed. Since then, the moor has recovered and can grow again. The trees that appear from time to time do not always withstand the increased water, but often die off. As a result, they in turn provide habitat for many animal species that specialize in deadwood. In 2012, middle and lesser woodpeckers were found as breeding birds in the Bagen for the first time.

The wilderness area still offers precious darkness at night, making the stars particularly visible and attracting wildlife such as the boreal owl and bat. The Star Trail at the Aussicht Wildnis (Wilderness Viewpoint) in Lieberose provides fascinating information about their lifestyles and the value of the night during the day. The trail explores the wilderness area at night with various interactive exhibits and can be experienced during the day. Pintschens spring (Lower Sorbian: Pintšowe žrědło) is a small spring declared a natural monument. In the 19th century, the water from the spring was directed to Straupitz Castle, where it was possibly used by the castle brewery, through an approximately 7-kilometer pipe. The line consisted of logs that were about four meters long and drilled through. Since there is only a seven-meter gradient on the route, the engineering work associated with the construction of the line is considerable. A piece of the wooden pipe is exhibited in Straupitz today.
