A super highlight is the Düdinger Moos

The Düdingen Möser were subject to numerous disturbances in the 20th century. The peat of this Möser, which took several thousand years to form, was intensively mined during the Second World War to counteract the lack of coal. This resulted in several bodies of water and the habitat began to be colonized by trees and bushes. The use of part of the Möser as a waste pit and for fish farming, as well as the construction of the A12 motorway, had a major impact on this habitat in the 1970s.

The well-known area of the Grengspitz*1) is largely subject to nature conservation. Nevertheless, a few easily accessible (bicycle) paths lead to the headland, at the top of which there are fireplaces and a large wooden table with benches that entice you to linger. Some trash cans make it easier to stay organized, just like several Robidog*2). The area is very busy in the warmer seasons and during holidays and vacations, even in the evenings! The Auried nature reserve is a small vibrant oasis of life. If you close your eyes and focus on listening, you will be surprised what a sonorous place the Auried is. If you keep your eyes open and don't just look into the distance, you will be surprised at how much life there is in the one square meter of earth you are standing on. If you're lucky, you can also see one or the other Scottish highland cattle, with their shaggy fur and wide-spreading horns, standing in the shallow water. A well-maintained schnitzel path leads through the Auried. But there are also wooden footbridge sections that lead the visitor across the water without getting their feet wet. There are observation posts everywhere that allow an intimate insight into the nature reserve.

Easy and flat for riding a bike or for hiking. Ideal in summer to enjoy the shade. In many places there are opportunities to get directly to the lake on narrow paths or to follow the shore over long distances. However - when the weather is nice, at the weekend and during the holiday season (summer) - the area is extremely well visited. This also because of several large campsites! If you prefer to be almost alone on the road, you can avoid the busy times and enjoy the area. If you have enough time, you can spend a whole day in one and the same spot or visit several places on the water. There are opportunities to grill almost everywhere.
