Home trail of the TPE.

After the Färnstu Trail was officially approved by the authorities, the associated requirements were implemented on April 20, 2024. This included a new access road about 80 meters higher up, as well as various passing places about 2x3 meters in size. Where the bike trail meets the hiking trail, slow-down chicanes had to be erected. This is the case at the new access road and at the two exits, although one was removed by someone shortly after our deployment. Unfortunately, this does not achieve anything in this case, except unnecessary work and the risk that the trail will not be approved by the authorities when it is finally approved. So here is a call to everyone to respect the necessary construction measures. In a second step, appropriate signage will follow, as at the Powerman Cave. This is just as non-debatable as the construction measures already described and implemented. As Ruedi says, the machines have left their mark here. However, the trail is currently easy to navigate in both directions again. However, there are roots and branches everywhere, so more like S1/S2. When it's wet everything here is full of mud, not recommended.

The Verena Trail leads along the top of the ridge to the east of the Verena Gorge. It begins as a narrow, playful path that is slightly blocked. Later it becomes flowy with some flat slabs of rock on the bottom and some gravel. It is partly narrow and close to the abyss. In general, however, it is not difficult to navigate. Nevertheless, you should bring some practice in rocky terrain if you want to cycle it.

The trail has suffered greatly. The forestry work and the machine transport have left deep, muddy tracks, rain and the lack of drying sun will probably not bring any improvement for a while. Almost impossible to navigate from the Chuchigraben.
