Cycling along the lake shore, a real pleasure on hot summer days

Camp Pittet is the ideal place to immerse yourself in protected nature. There are two options (apart from the fact that there are also guided tours). Either you go along the paths on your own and climb the viewing platform, or you go to the center, including the exhibition and more, and can then immerse yourself in nature - without having to cross the main street (pedestrian tunnel). The last variant has the advantage that you can also visit the observation station when you enter (code-secured). The hike can also be limited to a visit to the Pro Natura Champ-Pittet center and its surroundings on the municipal territory of Cheseaux-Noréaz. Beautiful reed areas, wooden walkways, nature trails and observation towers make a hike an enjoyable stroll. The Pro Natura center (indoor) is only open from March to October. Obligatory stop to admire the Grande Cariçaie reserve. The new observation tower, inaugurated in March 2018, offers visitors three floors to enjoy the panorama of the Grande Cariçaie and benefit from a new observation point at water level, dear to photographers. This architectural jewel is made of 100% Swiss wood. Since the end of May 2019, it has been equipped with dry toilets. At the end of the marsh trail, you will find a pontoon perfect for observation. A little corner of paradise from where you can observe the characteristic animals of the marsh. Above Lake Neuchâtel there is a vantage point on a Jura cliff with a great view of the moorland and the lake.

The bike path is well developed along the nature reserve.

Relax on a bench with the soothing sound of falling water

If you listen carefully, you can hear various animals here, such as frogs and birds, and with a little patience, you can even observe them. In the Grande Cariçaie, the name of the shoreline on the south and east shore of Lake Neuchâtel, you can also explore small, hidden beaches and read the information boards that tell you everything about the Grande Cariçaie and the nature reserve.
