Very idyllic little pond - nice little walk via Thunstetten Castle.

Natural rose garden The newly designed and ecologically upgraded rose garden includes very different areas. It invites you to stroll and linger, whether on the lawn and play area, in the exercise area or in the sculpture park. One area is dedicated to rest, another serves as a classroom. The natural upgrading of the rose garden was suggested by the population. The park and former cemetery was turned into a meeting place for generations through various measures. There is now a small vegetable garden for the Garden Child project (Bioterra) and a school garden, a snack garden for everyone and many natural elements that can also be implemented in private gardens. These include the numerous newly planted native perennials and shrubs, small structures such as piles of branches and dry stone walls as well as robust rose varieties.

Extensive nature reserve in deep forest.

The forest was drained for many years by a dense ditch system. In order to win back the area for the site-typical alternating damp to wet forest communities and the rare animal and plant species that depend on them, the old ditches were closed and new dams were built. The result is a rewetted area in which toads and dragonflies feel very much at home. The beaver has also found ideal conditions here and is happily building dams and cave systems. He fells even the biggest trees. The area is worth visiting at any time of the year.

The power plant itself interests me less. But I think it's great what has been done here to give nature back a small piece of what was taken from it. Here you can gain insights into the most astonishing water worlds and are also clearly explained on information boards.

Beautiful. Almost like in the Everglades 😄. Lots of animals to watch: dragonflies, mice, frogs, birds, etc.
