Lake Gerzensee is privately owned. It's not possible to walk around it. From Kirchdorf, there's a dirt road that leads to a wonderful seating area.

Lake Gerzen is a lake located between the villages of Gerzensee, Mühledorf, and Kirchdorf in the canton of Bern, Switzerland. Its water level is at an average elevation of 603 meters above sea level. At normal water levels, the lake is approximately 8.5 meters deep on average and reaches a maximum of 11 meters deep, and has a surface area of 0.25 km², making it one of the medium-sized pre-Alpine lakes in Switzerland.

This hike takes you up a spiral path to a hill known as "Zur Luftstation" (To the Air Station). From there, you'll have a breathtaking panoramic view of Bern and the surrounding countryside. At the foot of the hill lies the grave of Paul Klee, adding to the artistic and historical significance of the location.

Universal Postal Monument, Kleine Schanze, Bern The Universal Postal Monument in the "Kleine Schanze" park was erected in 1909. The Universal Postal Union monument, unveiled on October 4, 1909, is the work of the French sculptor René de Saint-Marceaux (1845 - 1915). It is made of granite and bronze and commemorates the founding of the organization in Bern. On the occasion of the 150th anniversary, a dedication was unveiled in front of the monument on October 9, 2024.
