Joubert House, Long Street, a house museum, offers a glimpse into typical rural life in the 1850s. Of particular interest is an extensive collection of toys from bygone eras, particularly the unique collection of individually numbered, handmade porcelain dolls. The dolls' costumes are historically accurate down to the smallest detail, including underwear and leather shoes. The indigenous medicinal plant garden behind Joubert House is a must-see. For the past 22 years, the museum has researched and documented the rich history and traditional use of medicinal plants in the Montagu district, passed down by the Khoikhoi, San, and European settlers.
