Leaving the main road that connects Kolašin to Šavnik, a high mountain plateau opens up. The highest peaks reach 2000 meters, and the main road cruises just 400 meters below. Only shepherd and their herds venture into this region, making the path that crosses these mountains the ride of a lifetime! No resupplies are available, but locals are always ready to help in case of need!

Leaving the Durmitor National Park, you'll enter a mysterious hilly section. Most of it is paved, but don't underestimate the power of Montenegro Mountain Madness: it will make you feel small in the best ways! Make sure to resupply both water and food before tackling this traverse.

The Durmitor is a mountain massif in the north of Montenegro that belongs to the Dinarides mountain range. The Durmitor National Park, which surrounds the massif and was declared a national park in 1952, has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1980. The highest peak of the Durmitor massif is the Bobotov Kuk at 2522 metres. 48 peaks of the Durmitor massif are higher than 2000 metres.🚴

Great road, touristic but still enjoyable. The view and the road are worth the effort.

Nearly zero traffic in the morning. Excellent tarmac all the way up and down the other side too. The slope is moderate and very even, making it pleasant to drive.
